For at least the past week, Seattle has been enjoying some hot weather with temperatures nearing the 90’s. This heat is unusual for the pacific northwest, and I have been trying to go outside as much as possible to enjoy the sun. This Sunday I planned to go hiking, but of course, the Seattle weather decided to switch out the sun for some typical light rain and forecasts of thunderstorms. Disappointed, my husband and I decided to instead, take our daughter and our dogs to a nature city park close to downtown. The park is truly a nature getaway surrounded by an urban setting, complete with miles of woodsy trails, sand dunes, and rocky beaches.
I enjoyed the trails that were not strenuous at all, and felt very secluded and peaceful, while the dogs loved exploring the beaches and low tides.
This excursion was a great way to spend a cloudy, muggy, summer day.
